Summer is already here and I thought we would be finished by now. Sometimes when I walk around my house, I wonder if we are making any progress at all. We did get all the new light fixtures installed but in doing so, the ceilings and walls now have big gaping holes in them where old light fixtures were. Here are the type of lights we've added to the Den. They are directional recessed lights designed to keep the light from glaring in your eyes when you are sitting in the den:
And here you can see the where the ceiling now will need repairs. This photo is from the pantry but we have the same gaping holes in the den, the dining room, the hall, and the living area by the kitchen.
Now we have a lot of sheetrock repair going on and it feels like the house is in complete chaos again. Because of the age of the houses, we are also smoothing out ceilings that had small cracks in them too.
Hopefully, this will be finished by the end of the week, and we can move on to refinishing the hardwood floor in the TV Den, installing the new light switches, and schedule the painting. Whew!
Can't wait to see the furniture!
