Lighting Changes

As we wait for the concrete floors to cure, we've been working with Sonja and Phillips Lighting in Modesto on some lighting changes. This involves new floor outlets, new art lighting, new recessed lighting, new undercabinet lighting and new switches.

We are going to use some standard gimbal fixtures for flooding walls and art that look something like this:

They use a low voltage bulb with a nice pure white light. Also we'll be using some LED lighting to replace our very old incandescent tubes that are currently installed under the kitchen cabinets. I discovered that it is next to impossible to buy new bulbs for these old fixtures and only a couple are still working.  Here is what they look like:

I actually did find some bulbs for sale for $64.00 apiece!  There are other problems with the old Lumiline bulbs as well such as they get very very hot, and eventually burn out. The LED lights we'll replace them with look something like these:

They burn very cool, are low voltage, and never burn out.  What more do you want?  They're dimmable!
